We will hire two staff to provide I/DD residents with additional support, to promote independence, and to plan social and recreational activities held both in our neighborhoods as well as in the greater community.
Having these staff gives our vulnerable adults another layer of support by providing an extra set of watchful eyes, notifications and updates to caregivers, problem-solving, coordination of services when parents are no longer around, and much more. Plus, these positions guarantee that our adult children live socially meaningful lives of their choice — not lives spent isolated and lonely.
These positions are:
- Community Integration Specialist : plans and coordinates various program options for residents on-site and in the broader community, such as:
- Social, Recreational, Spiritual, Nutrition, and Exercise Programs
- Adult Life Skills Programs (managing finances, cooking classes, housekeeping, etc.)
- Community Support Specialist: provides oversight of the integrated service and supports.
